Little baby sofia jay thriving and back home following multiple heart ops

SHE was born with the same heart condition that claimed the life of her older sister, but five-month-old Sofia Jay Kilkelly is thriving after coming through multiple surgeries in her short life.
The Tuam infant arrived home to Palace Fields last month, after spending her first four months in the cardiac unit of Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Her parents, Sylvia and Brian, are thrilled to have their daughter home and are counting their blessings, having lost their first daughter, Zoe, to the same condition four years ago.
Sofia and Zoe were both born with Heterotaxy syndrome, a condition that places the major internal organs opposite to where they should be. Sofia is also without a spleen and is hypoplastic right, which means the left side of her heart is doing the work of both chambers because the right side isn’t fully developed.
