Local festivals and Races gift pubs 'best week in years’

THERE has been a significant upturn for many pubs in the county with a number reporting one of their “best weeks in years”.
The boost in numbers crowding the Galway Racecourse and those attending events during festival season in many towns and villages around North East Galway has given a much needed and welcome boost to local pub trade.
Many pubs in Tuam and outlying areas ensured their regulars kept their drinking habits local by putting on buses to the Races on a number of days.
Eithne O’Donohoe of O’Donohoe’s Pub in Abbeyknockmoy told The Herald that they enjoyed a “hectic” week while Brendan Holian of The Brogue Bar in Tuam was delighted to report “one of our best weeks in years”.
