Local bands set to take over a stage at Electric Picnic

A HOST of Galway musicians, including many from the Tuam and Headford areas, will make up a large part of the line-up for one of the stages at the now sold-out Electric Picnic music festival
Electric Picnic is Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival with over 30,000 people set to attend during the three-day event in Stradbally Estate in Co Laois from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31.
The local Galway contingent are all set to appear on the Body and Soul stage, mostly on the Friday. Among those flying the maroon and white flag will be Tuam band Strange Boats, singer and musician Noelie McDonnell along with Saw Doctors members Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlethwaite, who are touring very well as Leo and Anto.
If the Galway performances go down well, there are plans to try and have the stage dedicated to West of Ireland musicians for the entire weekend of next year’s festival.
