Positive discussions on return of Palace Road and closed car parks

POSITIVE discussions are understood to be taking place with a view to having the former Palace Road in Tuam reinstated and the old carparks at O’Toole’s SuperValu reopened.
Talks will continue to be held between both parties involved in advance of the matter returning before the High Court on Monday, July 7.
At the end of May An Bord Pleanala refused planning permission for the retention of the controversial split-level surface car park at the rear of the town centre supermarket.
The car parks have been closed since the beginning of the year on foot of a High Court order because they were an unauthorised development. The refusal of planning permission also means that the lands must be resinstated.
