Pretty little Kilbannon filly flies from rain to sun in Dubai

SHE is a pretty little Kilbannon lady but Molly the filly takes to the skies this week flying far from the stormy and wet West of Ireland to a life of leisure in the sunnier climes of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Molly is a tiny four-year-old Shetland pony and when the Kilbannon born and bred skewbald (chestnut with white patches), who is only six hands high, gets off the Emirates flight at Dubai airport she will be quite a contrast to the racehorses, mostly 17 hands high, that she will be travelling with.
Mattie Kennedy from Cloonkeely is her breeder and while she has been on his farm since she was born he is pleased that she will remain a horse of leisure as a family pet for the children of a Kuwaiti businessman living in Dubai.
Karen Connolly, a native of Galway Road, Tuam who now lives in Annagh, Kilbannon, organised the deal that sees Molly the pony flying south to a sunnier lifestyle.
