Tuam traders to be surveyed ahead of Business Watch launch

TRADERS in Tuam are being canvassed for their opinions ahead of the launch of a new crime-prevention programme in the town.
The Business Watch Tuam initiative was announced by Superintendent Pat McHugh at a Joint Policing Committee meeting last October, and now business people are being asked to sign up to the programme.
Modelled on the Neighbourhood Watch scheme that operates in residential areas throughout the town, the Business Watch version aims to bring traders and the local Gardai together to prevent and reduce crime.
Tuam Chamber of Commerce is contacting its members this week, asking them to fill in anonymous online surveys, to gauge interest in the scheme.
