The Saw Docs double their dates for America and Canada tour

AFTER two sell-out shows in Dublin's Olympia Theatre a few weeks ago, The Saw Doctors are in training for one of their biggest and most ambitious American and Canadian tours to date. Davy, Leo and the lads kick-off the six-week coast-to-coast tour in sunny Florida on February 22 and will end up in Los Angeles at the famous Troubadour venue on Sunday, April 1. It will also be the first visit to Canada by The Saw Doctors for nearly ten years and they're hoping to get a big welcome back at their concert in the Mod Club in Toronto on Tuesday, March 20. The band, who smashed the charts over Christmas with their fantastic version of Downtown, will perform at 29 shows over the six weeks and play places for the first time such as Des Moines in Iowa and Wilmington in North Carolina. The Docs are hoping their home fans will spread the word to their relatives and friends across the Atlantic. 'It's one of our most ambitious tours so far really in America and there are a good few places that we've never performed in before. Some mightn't have heard about The Saw Doctors before and we're asking our loyal fans to check over the tour list to see if they have friends or family close to any of the venues and if so, to spread the word that we'll be arriving very soon and to expect a great night,' remarked Davy. Manager Ollie Jennings says the reason that the tour has nearly doubled in size is down to the band signing with a new agency in America. The six week US and Canada tour has been booked by Keith Naisbitt at the APA Agency in California. The Saw Doctors signed up with the APA Agency at the beginning of 2011 and Keith has bumped up the band's normal three-week tour in March to a six-week coast-to-coast tour of the US and Canada,' explained Ollie. The lads will also play their popular venues that are quick to sell out and they have two shows in New York City at Irving Plaza in Lower Manhattan on Saturday, March 10 and on Friday, March 16. On St Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17, The Saw Doctors will celebrate with a performance at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. A highlight of the upcoming spring tour will be the American release of the band's recent studio album, The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors, which will get a nationwide distribution via RED Distribution with a street date of Tuesday, March 13.
