Abbey Acts stage one-act comedies

THE famous one-act comedy Thirst by Myles na gCopaleen will be staged by Abbey Acts at the weekend, along with Wife Required by Falkland L Carey. Thirst, directed by Padraig Mannion, is a comedy set after hours in a Dublin pub. The owner and two locals are enjoying their late drinks when they are disturbed by the Sergeant who has a bit of a 'thirst' himself. Wife Required, directed by Eimear O'Donohoe and Denis O'Connor, is another hilarious comedy, where businessman Henry Aspinal finds himself wanting a wife, so he has advertised for one in the local newspaper! And you will just have to go to see the show to find out how he fares. These two productions bring some new faces to the stage in Abbeyknockmoy Community Centre, and some familiar ones too. In addition, Abbey Acts have a special surprise or two in store for their audiences on both nights, so make sure you don't miss out. To top it all off, refreshments and programmes are complimentary on both nights. So why not kick start the Christmas festivities early and come along to Abbeyknockmoy Community Centre on November 18 or 19 and enjoy a good laugh and a great night of entertainment. While you are at it, why not join the cast and crew for the after show party in O'Donohoe's Pub on Saturday night 19th. Cover charge both nights €8 adult, €5 concession. Tickets are available from O'Donohoe's Spar, Abbeyknockmoy, and at the door. Doors open at 7.30 pm.
