Tuam will have farmers' market

THE countdown is on to Tuam’s first ever farmers’ market with the confirmation that the weekly event will be held in Browne’s Lane, just off the Town Square later this month.

Efforts to secure a site for a market, which is being organised by Orla Burke of the Savage Garden in Abbey knockmoy, have been ongoing over the past number of months.
Plans to locate it in the laneway linking the Shambles car park to Sawpit Lane were scuppered when Galway County Council revealed a change of byelaws was required, which could take up to two years to process.
