Deadly school run

AN extra 1,000 cars a day pass the front door of a local school and with one in five of them travelling at over 100 kph – parents and teachers are terrified that young lives will be lost unless immediate action is taken.

A campaign to protect children's safety at Milltown NS on the N17 has been ongoing for the past 17 years and has reached a crisis point, with some calling for children to be kept out of school.
At a public meeting on Monday night, parents, staff and concerned residents voiced their anger and frustration at the delay in having the speed limit reduced outside the school.
