Brazen ram raiders flee Headford empty-handed

RAM raiders who smashed down the front door of Monaghan’s Service Station, Headford, using a stolen jeep in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday) fled empty handed leaving the vehicle, a stolen trailer and a hand truck behind after causing thousands of euro worth of damage to the premises.
Three balaclava-wearing raiders fled the scene between 3 and 4 am in a silver coloured saloon car, possibly an Audi, parked nearby with a fourth gang member at the wheel. After the burglar alarm went off several Garda cars were on the scene within ten minutes.
The Toyota jeep used in the raid was stolen in the Caherlea, Corrandulla area earlier while the steel trailer was stolen from the Kilcoona area.
