Sons' diagnosis prompts mum to climb Kilimanjaro

A HEADFORD mother is to turn a devastating diagnosis for two of her three young sons into motivation to scale one of the world’s highest peaks.
Sharon Moran will scale Mount Kilimanjaro in January in a bid to raise funds for the Galway branch of the National Council of the Blind in Ireland (NCBI).
The charity has become a lifeline since her two eldest sons were diagnosed with an incurable eye condition that will eventually render them blind. Adam, 12, and Nathan, 10, were diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) in September 2015.
