Tuams 8k road race a huge success

TUAM Athletic Club’s popular annual 8K is going from strength to strength with even more participants than ever taking place in Sunday’s event.
Approximately 500 runners lined out at the starting line for the main event, ten per cent up on 2014, with an additional 170 juveniles involved in the Kids’ Fun Run on the St Jarlath’s College track.
Athletes travelled from all over the country for the 11th staging of the popular event and Brendan Monaghan of Tuam Athletics Club told The Tuam Herald they were delighted with the turnout and the event was now a permanent fixture on the local sporting calendar.
