Vintage tractors will trek Europe

TWO vintage tractors driven by two Brownsgrove men will make an epic journey from Germany to Dunmore this summer with the aim of raising €20,000 for charity.
Michael Kelly and Tom Burke have spent the past year reconstructing a 1965 V8 Massey Ferguson 35X which will travel the 1,000 km distance from Lorch Ransel, near Frankfurt, to Dunmore in July in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
A slightly newer model, a 1973 Massey 165, will be brought up to standard over the coming weeks in time for the trek that is expected to take three weeks to complete.
Speaking from Tom’s home in Carrarea, the men said they were looking forward to the challenge that will take them through six different countries before arriving home in Dunmore at the end of July.
