IT was a disappointing weekend of championship action for Abbeyknockmoy who were unable to raise a gallop in their opening round of action in Ballinasloe last Saturday afternoon.
Both sides met in the final round of group games in last year’s Senior B competition, the last time either side tasted championship action, with Abbey dishing out a comprehensive six-point defeat to their South Galway opponents.
This time around, it was a complete role reversal as Gerry Farragher and Brian Cooley’s men were dominated in almost every facet of play from beginning to end in what was by all accounts a sub-par performance.
