Pres Athenry are hurling champions.

PRESENTATION College, Athenry were crowned All-Ireland Post Primary Junior A Hurling Championship winners in Banagher on Saturday, overcoming Munster standard-bearers Thurles CBS by a whopping 18-point margin.

Team captain Ian McGlynn collected the Niall McInerney Cup, the first time that a Galway school has captured the trophy named after the legendary Liam Mellows and Galway hurler.
