Galway ladies well placed for last four

GALWAY'S National League ambitions remain in their own hands despite Sunday's disappointing loss to Cork.

Goals for Orla Finn, Marie O'Callaghan and Ciara O'Sullivan put the Rebelettes into the semi-finals and Galway will join them should they defeat Westmeath next Sunday.
Cork and Dublin sit top of Division 1 with 15 points and are guaranteed their knockout places. Mayo, on 12 points, will be through should they overcome Monaghan, leaving Donegal and Galway, locked on ten points each, to possibly battle it out for the final spot.
Should both remain level on points after their final assignments, the Tribeswomen will advance. When just two teams are equal, head-to-head is the first method of separation but the two teams drew 0-16 to 1-13 in Glenfin in Feburary.
Before scoring difference comes into play, the next stage for differentiating between the sides is who kicked more balls over the bar. Galway were the county that got the 16 white flags and will be seeded ahead of Donegal.
The Tír Conaill women have a superior scoring difference and have 30 points to spare over Galway. But that will only come into play if both sides win and Mayo draw with Monaghan, leaving three teams tied on 13 points. In that case, a two-point win would be enough to send Galway through with the Ulster county.
