Light up towns for the children this Christmas

DARK streets at Christmas don’t bear thinking about, but that’s what’s in store for towns and villages around North Galway if people don’t dip in to their pockets.

One of the best displays around has been in Tuam for the last number of years, but this week the local committee that organises the lights is worried that the money just won’t be there.

It cost €19,000 to light up the town last Christmas, and the cost this year would be something similar.
