Special Olympics athletes need help to stay on track

TUAM-Headford Special Olympics club is appealing to people to get behind a national fundraising drive that is hoping to raise half a million euro for its athletes across the country.
The Can’t Stop Now appeal is to make up for the loss of fundraising activities due to Covid.
Secretary of the Tuam Headford club Patricia Creaven said the pandemic had greatly affected members’ ability to train in recent months.
“We have tried to keep training going for our gymnasts by giving them equipment so that they can practice routines at home but it’s not the same.
