Irish Water reject offer of alternative site for controversial sludge hub
A FINAL report on the public’s views on the selection of a site for the planned Regional Sludge Hub for the West won’t be published until later this year. The report was due to be published in spring.
Tuam is one of two sites shortlisted for the development which has sparked anger and concern among local public representatives, businesses and residents. The other location being considered is Sligo.
It’s understood there were several hundred submissions received regarding the establishment of the Sludge Hub, plans for which emerged just under a year ago.
Irish Water has confirmed that it is not pursuing an alternative site put forward by Bord na Mona.
