Survey hopes to save Gaeltacht status

GAEILGEOIRS in Claregalway, Annaghdown and Carnmore have united for a common cause, to ensure the Gaeltacht status for the region is maintained for future generations to come.
The Irish language had been spoken in the area for 2,000 years and was the primary community language until about three generations ago but still remains the family spoken tongue for a small minority to this very day.
