Aoibheann will speak to 1,000 women

AN 11-year-old pupil of Cloghans Hill National School will be one of the youngest speakers at a national symposium organised to coincide with the Pope’s visit.
Aoibheann Mangan says she isn’t a bit daunted at speaking to an audience of about 1,000 from 160 countries or to sharing a platform with some of the world’s most influential women in a number of fields.
Aoibheann, who is currently European Digital Girl of the Year, hasn’t prepared her speech yet but public speaking isn’t new to her, having recently given the keynote speech at the Inspire Fest, an event which celebrates girls, women and diversity in technology.
The Hollymount native is by now an accomplished coder, which earned her the European global ambassadorship for coding and STEM for girls. She has spoken in the European Parliament and has designed four websites.
