Tuam sports site moves closer
A 30-acre site on the outskirts of Tuam has been identified as the preferred location for a new community sports facility for the town.
Negotiations are believed to be close to a successful conclusion for the site that straddles existing sports clubs in the town.
Tuam Athletics Club, Tuam Camogie Club and Tuam Cortoon Ladies Football Club have joined forces under the We Are Tuam Sports Facility banner to develop a sports complex to cater to all three clubs’ needs.
With close to 1,000 members, the three clubs are currently homeless, which prompted the need for a communal sports facility in the town.
