Appeals board gives green light to two major school projects

PLANS to extend a secondary school in Claregalway and also provide a purpose-built Educate Together National School in the village have got the green light from An Bord Pleanala.

The Department of Education has earmarked a new Educate Together national school and a substantial extension to Colaiste Bhaile Chlair Secondary School for the same site, just off the Oranmore Road.
However, the plans sparked considerable opposition from some local residents and community groups.
