THERE is widespread sadness in Tuam and among the entire Galway GAA community following the death of Tommy Varden.

In a statement DAFTS, Development Advocates for Tuam Stadium, of which Tommy was Chairperson, paid tribute to his life long support of Galway football and Tuam Stadium.

"It is with the deepest regret that we relay the passing of our magnificent leader and Chairperson TOMMY VARDEN. R. I. P.
He was the driving force behind our group and provided extraordinary and inspiring leadership. His contribution to Galway GAA was immeasurable.
