Stay clear of ‘quick fix’ Xmas loans

VULNERABLE families are being urged to avoid quick fix finance solutions being offered by a finance company that is promoting Christmas loans throughout Galway homes in recent weeks.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul has spoken out about flyers posted throughout the county by a Wicklow based finance company, Provident.
The company is offering loans of up to €600, with an interest rate of 187 per cent APR.
The rising cost of Christmas is forcing more and more families to turn borrow money in the run up to December 25, but the charity has warned that these easy to access loans lead people into further debt.
