Tuam Herald Editor wins travel writing award

THE Editor of The Tuam Herald, David Burke, won the Best Long Haul Award in the Travel Journalist of the Year
awards in the RDS on Friday night.
The annual competition is organised by Travel Extra, the trade newspaper for the Irish travel industry.
The article which won the award was entitled A Taster of Japan and was published in The Tuam Herald in October 2018.
Nine other winners, each for different holiday categories, were announced on Friday night at a dinner in Thomas Prior House, Ballsbridge which was attended by the cream of Irish travel and tourism writers and broadcasters.
