Pearse Stadium to host two major concerts in 2027

PEARSE Stadium is set to host two major concerts next summer with Garth Brooks heading to Galway.

The American country music star will play two nights at the Salthill venue, May 28 and 29, as part of a nationwide tour that also sees him heading to Belfast, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork.

It will be the first major concert hosted at the home of Galway GAA since June 2022, when the Black Eye Peas took to the stage. Ed Sheeran played two memorable sold-out gigs at Pearse Stadium back in 2018, while Westlife played to a rain drenched crowd in 2008.

Garth brooks will play ten gigs in 2027 across Ireland in Galway, Kilkenny, Belfast, Cork and Limerick.

Garth Brooks last toured Ireland back in 2022, playing for more than 400,000 fans across five sold out gigs at Croke Park in Dublin. He previously performed at the venue in 1997.

The 2022 gigs came after an earlier five-night tour of GAA HQ was cancelled in 2014, after just three of the gigs were granted licences, prompting the entire Irish leg of his tour to be scrapped.

Garth will begin his 2027 ten-night tour of Ireland with two nights in Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields on Friday and Saturday May 21 and 22, before moving to Pearse Stadium for the weekend of May 29 and 30.

He will then perform at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny on Friday June 4 and Saturday June 5, followed by the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Friday June 11 and Saturday June 12. The final two concerts will take place at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on June 18 and Saturday June 19.

Tickets for all 10 concerts go on sale on Thursday 12 November at 8am.
