Widespread grief following death of young man in tragic accident
Funeral to take place at weekend
THE funeral of the young man who died in a tragic accident near his home on the outskirts of Tuam will take place this weekend.
There has been a huge outpouring of grief following the death of 18-year-old Liam Mannion from Lavally, Tuam on Wednesday evening.
Gardaí and the Emergency Services attended the scene of an incident involving a car on the property on Wednesday evening.
The accident has caused widespread shock and sadness in the local rural area where the community has rallied to provide support to the young man’s family and his young friends.
Liam is a former student of Archbishop McHale College in Tuam where he completed his studies in June. He is survived by his heartbroken parents Tommy and Jackie Mannion, Cappadavock, Lavally, his five siblings, relatives and many friends.
Huge crowds are expected to attend the reposal in Clonberne Community Centre on Sunday afternoon and his funeral Mass on Monday in Cortoon Church.
Friends, local clubs and groups have paid tribute to Liam and offered condolences online since his sudden passing.
