Thieves steal expensive tools from Tuam centre

A BURGLARY at the Brú Bhríde Men’s Shed in Tuam resulted in the theft of a large quantity of tools and equipment.

The incident occurred sometime between 1pm on Friday, October 2 and 5pm on Sunday, October 4.

A spokesperson for the centre said online that the tools were purchased to support the members of the Men’s Shed and to carry out projects that benefit the wider community.

They described the incident as heartbreaking, noting that a community organisation had been specifically targeted.

The thieves are believed to have gained access through the back gate and forced entry through double doors at the premises.

Items stolen included a Dewalt impact drill, two Ford routers, two angle grinders, two chainsaws, several electrical tools, a Makita air gun and a small angle grinder.
