Family-owned Headford store is in the running for national award

JOYCES Hardware & Home in Headford have been named among the finalists in the Octabuild Builders Merchant Excellence Awards.

The awards recognise businesses and individuals setting the benchmark for excellence across the builders' merchant sector.

This year, 22 businesses are in contention across eight award categories, alongside nine Rising Star and 23 Unsung Hero nominees.

Joyces are one of four builders' merchants representing the Connacht/Donegal/Monaghan/Cavan region in this year's awards, alongside Chadwicks in Galway city, Ganly’s Athlone and Chadwicks Letterkenny.

“The standard of entries this year has been exceptionally high,” stated one of this year’s judges Phil Derby, who has been visiting shortlisted merchants nationwide in recent weeks.

“It was clear at every stop that merchants are genuinely investing in their businesses – in stores, yards and merchandising, but just as much in people, training, digital capability, sustainability and customer experience.

“Reaching this stage is the result of a rigorous judging process, and every shortlisted business should take real pride in what they’ve achieved.”

Joyces Hardware & Home is a third-generation, family-run business based in Headford, serving customers across the construction, home improvement and gardening sectors.

With a team of over 60 dedicated employees, the business has grown into a regional market leader, supporting both trade professionals and retail customers.

The winners of the awards will be announced at a Gala Dinner in The Round Room at the Mansion House, Dublin, on Thursday October 1.
