Large crowds for Glenamaddy’s Community Garden Open Day
GLENAMADDY Community Garden hosted their annual Open Day earlier this month, giving members of the public the opportunity to see the improvements made to their facilities.
Their new circular geodome and improved sensory garden proved popular attractions and hosted an array of events throughout the day such as Asian cookery demonstrations, a Tai Chi class and a Dry Felt Craft workshop.
The organisers thank Priya Nelson, Gary Cassidy and Christine Henry for their contributions to these activities and to the many sponsors who donated prizes for their raffle. They all helped to make the day such as a great success.
“Thanks to all who set up stands and helped on the day. It is the community who make magic by working together to include everyone and bring out the best in everyone,” stated group member Bernie Connelly.
“We are a volunteer group and are seeking new members to join and help in the garden. We meet every Saturday morning at 10:30 am. Come for a cuppa and see what we do,” she concluded.
