Ella Langley sings Choosin’ Texas.

Young Country Queens are big hits around the world

This summer a plethora of Country female singers, including Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, Stella Lefty, and Kacey Musgraves, have blitzed the Pop charts around the world.

Rising country powerhouse Ella Langley has topped the list of young new ladies of Country since she reached a major career milestone, securing her first-ever Number One single here with Choosin’ Texas from her album Dandelion.

The track climbed to the top of the Irish Singles Chart weeks before doing so in other countries including America, but it has now sold over four million units there marking a defining career moment for the fast-rising Alabama native.

It holds the record for being the longest running number one of recent times staying 11 consecutive weeks in the top spot. Apart from Ireland and the US it also went to number one in Australia, Canada and New Zealand and number one in the UK Country charts as well as number four in the Pop charts.

This song solidifies Ella’s place as one of Country’s most exciting new voices.

This year at the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) in Las Vegas Ella walked away with five gongs, including Female Artist of the Year and as expected Song of the Year for Choosin’ Texas. After over 13 years of trying, Ella is finally at the top and, in accepting the awards, she said she was “on cloud nine” and rightly so.

Meanwhile, Megan Moroney’s current album is called Cloud 9 and it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 — the definitive all genre chart.

It marked the release of her third album with 147,000 units sold in the US alone during its first week of release in America.

Meanwhile, at last year’s ACM Awards Lainey Wilson walked off with four major trophies and irrespective of not winning awards this year Lainey continues breaking the music genre over to a younger audience with her Bell Bottom Country album.

Another female singer, who was making waves in both the Pop and Country charts over a decade ago, Kacey Musgraves, has now bounced back into the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with her current hit Dry Spell and the duet hit with Zach Bryan I Forget Everything.

In the past Merry Go Round and Follow Your Arrow were two songs that seemed destined to make her a crossover artist but didn’t. Now with I Forget Everything she is no longer having a Dry Spell of hits!

Apart from those three ladies another one to watch out for is Stella Lefty who is also climbing the Pop and Country charts with her current hit Boston.

Here at home the young singers are progressing to the top too, such as Effie Neill and Claudia Buckley to name but two.
