Age Friendly award for Claregalway podiatry clinic
A CLAREGALWAY business has become the first podiatry clinic in Ireland to receive an Age Friendly Ireland award.
Karen Fahy and the team at Foot Health Podiatry received their award from Galway East TD Albert Dolan, in recognition for the care the practice is providing to older patients.
The Foot Health Podiatry staff carried out a review of the services they were giving to older patients and acted on feedback they received.
“The changes introduced may seem simple, but they make a significant difference. Improved signage, wheelchair-accessible facilities, dedicated parking, extended opening hours and Saturday appointments all help remove barriers that can prevent people from accessing essential healthcare services,” said Karen Fahy of Foot Health Podiatry.
Patients can assess advanced treatments and diagnostics at the practice, such as diagnostic ultrasound imaging, laser therapy and shockwave therapy.
Foot Health Podiatry was the first podiatry clinic in Ireland to introduce diagnostic ultrasound imaging, which identifies common conditions like plantar fasciitis.
