Donoghue and Healy win Audi Quattro Cup regional event

The 2026 Audi Quattro Cup season continued in style with the Audi Galway, Sligo and Ballina regional event taking place in the impressive Connemara Golf Links recently. A total of 146 golfers competed in the event, with strong interest and competitive scoring throughout the day.

Matt Donoghue and Pat Healy claimed victory with 45 points. Their performance secured them the Audi Galway, Sligo, and Ballina Quattro Cup title, along with qualification for the Irish national final.

The next five highest-ranked teams also progressed to the final at Druids Glen Golf Resort in September - 2nd: Ken Irwin & Mark Corrigan, 40 points; 3rd: Niall McGrath & Sean Lawlor, 39 points; 4th: Kevin Stritch & Keith Stritch, 38 points; 5th: Alan Loftus & Niall Loftus, 37 points; 6th: Sean Mannion & Tom Flaherty, 37 points.

The Audi Quattro Cup is a team-based competition with each team consisting of two players and is open to Audi customers and their chosen teammate. The maximum handicap is 36 (index) per player and 56 (index) per team. The handicap difference between the players in a team must not exceed 20.

Nine regional events are scheduled through May, June, and July at some of Ireland's most prestigious golfing destinations.

Now in its 36th year, the tournament is the world’s largest amateur golf series, involving more than 70,000 golfers across 38 countries and 600 events worldwide.
