Clubhouse and spectator stand for Moylough club

PLANNING permission has been granted for a clubhouse, an all-weather pitch, spectator stand and other facilities that are to be used by a Moylough soccer club.

The applicant, Castleview Sports, was given planning permission last month by Galway County Council to upgrade the facilities available to Moylough ’79 FC, with 15 conditions attached. The site is located behind Moylough Parish Sportsfield, on the edge of the village.

The single-storey clubhouse will have dressing rooms, a meeting room and toilets. There will be perimeter fencing, dugouts and floodlighting put in beside the all-weather training pitch.

A spectator stand and floodlighting will be constructed at the existing grass pitch, where Moylough ’79 FC teams play. A walking track with floodlighting will surround the development.

Car and bus parking spaces will also be provided, with the existing access road to the grounds from the L3203 to be completed with surfacing, drainage and lighting.

Separately, the Moylough Parish Sportsfield Committee have received planning permission across two planning applications in recent times for a walking/running track, meeting room and equipment storage area, an all-weather training pitch, the relaying of existing grass pitches, and other works.
