Free yoga sessions in Galway on International Yoga Day

RELAXED and guided yoga sessions led by experienced instructors will mark the International Yoga Day 2026 in Galway city.

The event to be held on Sunday, June 21 from 11am to 12.30pm at Coláiste Muire Máthair, where the focus will be on improving flexibility, reduce stress, enhance concentration and experience the calming effects of yoga and meditation.

It is being organised by the Indian Cultural and Sports Community (ICSC), Galway in collaboration with Embassy of India, Dublin and Galway City Council.

“International Yoga Day serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining harmony between the mind and body,” said Jitendra Kumar Gogineni, ICSC Secretary and Event Lead.

“This event is about bringing communities together through wellness and mindfulness. Whether you are new to yoga or have years of experience, we encourage everyone to participate and enjoy this opportunity to focus on health, relaxation, and connection with others."

The programme will feature two individual sessions led by instructors Meenakshi Duraiswamy and Anusha Gattu, with each instructor guiding their own dedicated practice tailored to suit participants of all levels.

Participation in the event is free of charge for people of all age groups. Due to a limited availability of yoga mats at the venue, attendees are encouraged to bring their own mats where possible. For more information or advance registration, visit: www.icscgalway.org.
