Fundraising support vital for Galway dog rescue

MADRA’s annual fundraising event is back again with a day centred around dogs and family entertainment.

‘Doing It for The Dogs’ is a fun filled family fundraising event to be held on Sunday, June 14 from 11am to 5pm at the Claddagh Hall, Galway.

It aims to provide a great day out for dog lovers while also raising vital funds to support MADRA’s rescue, rehabilitation, fostering, and rehoming work.

The event will feature expert talks on dog behaviour, training, grooming, and veterinary care, alongside live entertainment, local stalls, refreshments, family activities and much more.

One of the highlights of the day includes MADRA Dogathon, where supporters can fundraise on behalf of MARDA for the chance to have their dog crowned the Doing It For The Dogs Grand Marshal 2026.

The event will also include a Scan & Check station providing microchipping support and advice, pet portrait photography sessions, local craft and business stalls, MADRA merchandise, and a silent disco for attendees.

“As the demand for our services continues to grow, community support is more important than ever,” commented MADRA Co-Founder and Chairperson, Marina Fiddler.

MADRA is welcoming volunteer applications, stallholder enquiries, raffle prize donations, and home baking contributions ahead of the event.
