Over 30 events for Climate Inspirations Festival in Galway

THE five-day Climate Inspirations Festival will be held in Galway city at the end of June.

More than 30 events will be held at various venues in the city for the festival from June 24 to 28. Artists, scientists, local community members and Galway City Council staff will be involved in the festival which looks at how storytelling and culture can help with climate solutions.

Events on offer will include exhibitions, sustainability workshops, live music, climate art installations, as well as keynote talks and panels from sustainability leaders.

The festival will be centred around Fr. Burke Park, where speakers such as Harrison Gardner of RTÉ’s ‘Build Your Own Home’, Professor John Sweeney, architect John Sweeney and author John Gibbons will address those in attendance. Music will be provided by the likes of Sharon Shannon.

“This festival brings together what is best about Galway, our creative, community and academic cultures. I attended last year and was heartened by the community engagement and innovation, and I am looking forward to the excellent lineup in 2026,” said Councillor Mike Cubbard, the Mayor of Galway city.

Leonard Cleary, the CEO of Galway City Council, said “The Galway Climate festival is an opportunity for engagement with the public on climate action. It also highlights both Galway City and County climate actions and promotes the excellent work in the community as concerns sustainability.”
