Croagh Patrick climb for children's cancer charity

A fundraising hike of Croagh Patrick this month will help a cancer charity provide therapeutic care for children and young people.

The Croagh Patrick Climb takes place on Saturday, May 23, when patrons will scale the 764-metre mountain outside Westport. The fundraiser will assist Cancer Fund for Children to continue providing support to children and young people impacted by cancer in their family home, in hospital and at the Daisy Lodge therapeutic short-break centre in Newcastle, Co Down.

A second Daisy Lodge centre is currently under construction in Cong. The purpose-built centre will offer cancer patients and their families a place to rest and spend time together.

The multimillion-euro facility is set to open in the spring of 2027 and will increase the annual number of children and parents supported by Cancer Fund for Children from 1,800 to 4,000.
