Padel courts set for lift off in Tuam
A DUNMORE man is hoping to open a padel centre in Tuam at the end of next month.
The popularity of the relatively new sport padel has escalated rapidly worldwide in recent years, and Thomas Gleeson from Dunmore has decided to set up The Padel Factory in the Airglooney Business Park, just off the Tuam bypass.
Padel is played with a racket. The sport combines aspects of tennis and squash and uses the tennis scoring system. It can be played in games of doubles and singles, with the court surrounded by glass and mesh walls.
