New Chairperson of the Housing Agency, James Browne confirms
James Browne TD, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, announced the appointment of a new Chairperson of the Government's Housing Agency.
Carol Tancock has more than 25 years of experience in financial institutions across Europe, focusing on commercial real estate and portfolio management.
Carol served as interim chairperson since June 2025, but joined as a board member and non-executive director in 2023.
As well as Carol Tancock, John Ring and Eoin O’Lideadha join the operational team at the Housing Agency.
John is currently a Director of Research at Savills, having 15 years of experience in research, investment and economic consultancy.
Eoin is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a former partner of both KPMG in Ireland, having over 30 years of experience.
Minister James Browne discussed the appointment, saying: “The Housing Agency is a vital organisation in driving and implementing our national housing agenda, as outlined in our Housing Action Plan, Delivering Homes, Building Communities. Strong, experienced and dynamic leadership is essential to this work.
“Working with Chief Executive, Martin Whelan and the management team, Ms Tancock brings the skills, expertise and oversight needed to guide the Agency through this important period.”
