Deadline looms for Cathaoirleach awards

NOMINATIONS for this year's Galway County Cathaoirleach Awards close this Friday, April 10.

The awards acknowledge the commitment of individuals and groups who participate in community and voluntary activities in Co Galway and recognise the significant impact their actions have on the quality of life in their communities.

Public nominations are open across various categories, including Arts & Culture, Best Contribution to Heritage, Best Contribution to the Irish Language, Environment & Climate Action, Heritage Publication, Social Inclusion, Sports and Schools Contribution to Heritage.

Nominations can be made by individual members of the public or through community groups and voluntary organisations.

Applications must be submitted before the closing date of Friday, April 10 by emailing a completed Nomination Form to awards@galwaycoco.ie

The winners in each category will be presented with a specially commissioned designed and hand-crafted award along with a certificate and a cash prize of €500.

All shortlisted nominees will also receive a Highly Commended Certificate recognising the high quality of their work in the award category.
