Gardaí in Oranmore investigating
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a traffic collision in Claregalway earlier this week in which a teenage cyclist suffered serious injuries.
At around 8pm on Tuesday (March 31) Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision involving a car and a pedal cyclist at Claregalway on the N83 (formerly the N17).
The cyclist (a male juvenile in his teens) was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since fully reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage between Loughgeorge and Claregalway between 8pm and 8.30pm are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
