Win for Tuam
TUAM lifted the Bank of Ireland Connacht Senior Women's Cup for the third year in-a-row after they overcame a gallant Creggs outfit in Sunday's final at Dexcom Stadium.
It completed a league and cup double for the team formerly known as Tuam-Oughterard. They won't have much time to celebrate however, as they make the trip north this weekend to take on Enniskillen in their All-Ireland League promotion semi-final playoff match.
On Sunday last, it was Creggs, who are only three years a senior club, and in their maiden cup final, who stood in Tuam's way of completing a third win in succession.
Dave Purcell's side started strongly and got the game's first try after ten minutes. Sabina Egan began the move, gaining ground with a strong carry. With penalty advantage on their side, Creggs worked the ball out to out-half Éabha Dowd who made further yards before offloading to Seren Griffiths who touched down. Dowd added the conversion.
