Masterplan to transform Claregalway village into small town

CLAREGALWAY is set to benefit from a new masterplan aimed at regenerating the village and transforming it into a small town.

The plan will look at identifying where projects such as playgrounds and river walks could be located, alongside any housing, schools or other facilities, making sure they are all contained in one plan for the area.

Speaking at a meeting of the Athenry-Oranmore MD, Director of Services Liam Hanrahan said he expects a town team to be established some time in 2026 as they look to turn the village into a small town.
