Fluffy friends visited Tuam nursing home
RESIDENTS and staff at Tuam’s Greenpark Nursing Home embraced the festive feel-good factor recently with an uplifting visit from two Alpacas.
Alpacas Willow and Charisma travelled from FineOaks Alpacas in Cork to kickstart the Christmas festivities at the Tuam nursing home.
Alpacas are known for being gentle companions and animals that help bring calm, joy and a certain magical connection wherever they go among the people they meet.
The residents and staff were delighted to get up close to the furry animals who proved hugely popular throughout their visit.
“We had a wonderful afternoon with these beautiful animals which set the tone for the season ahead. Residents, staff and families all engaged with Willow and Charisma as they made their way around the Nursing Home for two hours,” remarked Brian McNamara of Greenpark.
“At Greenpark Nursing Home we look forward to the Christmas season as a time to reminisce and celebrate Christmas’s past, as well as enjoying Christmas present,” added Brian.
Residents and staff look forward to visits from community groups and school choirs over the coming weeks, who entertain every year. The nursing home’s Christmas party takes place on Sunday December 21 when families, friends and residents come together to enjoy food, drink, music, and stories.
