Local woman is a leading voice in promoting female representation in agriculture
FARMING in Cortoon and living in Dunmore, Mona O’Donoghue Concannon is involved in a series of upcoming online webinars that will focus on women’s role in the agricultural sector.
The webinars will take place in October and November and are an offshoot of a number of roadshows that were hosted last year by the Women in Agriculture Stakeholder Group.
The stakeholder group was set up in 2021, made up of representatives from five farming organisations. It was established as a means of addressing the lack of female representation in agricultural policies and in organisations. One of the group’s main goals at that time was to look at gender equality matters in CAP.
