Martin stars in crucial Sylanevictory
A STRONG second half performance saw Sylane overcome Athenry in Tuam Stadium on Sunday and record their first victory in Group 1 of the Galway Intermediate Hurling Championship.
Sylane outscored their opponents 1-12 to two points in the second period and actually kept Athenry scoreless from play in that half. Keelan Creaven was their scorer-in-chief contributing ten points, six from play. Goalkeeper Jake Hogan executed three long-range second half frees to perfection, while John Igoe added three points.
