Galway U-16s storm to victory

GALWAY U-16s posted healthy tallies throughout this season's Ted Webb Cup and closed out their impressive campaign with a free scoring 18-point final victory over Kerry North at the home of Clare GAA in Caherlohan on Saturday lunchtime.

The game's direction of travel became clear in the minutes immediately before half-time. With the sides level at 0-5 apiece, a flurry of goalmouth activity followed at both ends. Kerry North looked destined to rattle the net first, but Cian Cahill shot wide with a glorious chance.

Galway's response was swift and decisive with goals in the 27th, 28th and 30th minute effectively putting the outcome to bed. Joey Cullinane (Oranmore-Maree) netted their first and Michael Mitchell (Killannin) showed poacher's instincts to grab the next two.
